Inspired by the Christmas season and celebration, this bauble is the perfect addition to your Christmas decor. Many of the Christmas decorations we buy are made of plastic and get tossed in landfill after one season! This bauble is a far more sustainable, woolen option, and will last for generations.

Why make your own Christmas Decorations?

  1. More sustainable

Many of the Christmas decorations we buy are made of plastic and get tossed in landfill after one season! This bauble is a far more sustainable option that will last for generations, and is biodegradable.

  2. Customisation!

This design comes in 3 sizes, and there are tips to make the design whatever size you wish.

  3. Show off your skills

There is something special about being able to say ‘I made this!’ when friends and family come over. This is a great way to start a conversation and share your love of craft.

  4. Super easy

These baubles take less than an hour to crochet depending on the size, and so are great afternoon craft ideas for kids and adults alike.

The Materials

For this tutorial I used We Crochet Wool of the Andes Superwash Worsted in the colour Brass. The colour is a gorgeous gold perfect for Christmas. I love how squishy the wool is, as well as the fact that it is biodegradable for a more eco-friendly decoration!

The cream bauble is made from a bulky weight wool I found in my stash.
